Welcome to our Farm!
Our Homestead today
Isn't it funny where life leads us when we aren't looking... For myself and my family it was to the middle of Maine where we started our longtime dream of Homesteading. For a few years now, I have been making daily posts on my facebook page, aptly named the same "Heidi's Happy Acre Farm", and some of you have already followed us through quite a few trials and tribulations.
Our farm isn't a big farm, It’s just enough for us to do what we need to try new techniques, create new ideas and share it with all of you. Our mission is simple “To spread the word and educate everyone on self sustainability in a homesteading setting. We are especially teaching our children as they are the future and need to learn how to survive in the future.”
We are constantly building, repairing, modifying, renovating, building more - researching, creating and now we are looking to educate. We have done this with our children, as it initially was for them, now it is for all of you as we hear more and more from folks saying “We want to know what the heck you guys are up to now!” or “How did you make that?” So here we go on a grand new adventure into the life of a modern Homesteader Youtube style! Thanks for joining us and please help spread the word as the more people see this is possible, the better tomorrow will be! Also if you don't have a chance to follow us here, please join us on facebook.
And once again fast forward... May 2019! We have exciting news to share and we hope you will follow us along on another adventure! This one is starting and operating a farm petting zoo/livestock educational center! It has taken us a few years to really recover from the last homestead endeavor. Emotionally and financially. But we are moving forward as always, and the joy we see in the faces of family and friends who come visit our fur and feather family made us realize, this is what we want to do and share all the time! SO we hope you will stay tuned and look for our story here and on Youtube.. yup we are going to make a channel so you can watch us from the beginning! xx
One of my favorite sayings is a Native American proverb - "Treat the earth well: it was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children"
So please come on in and pull up a chair, as we are giving you a ring side seat to modern homesteading...Burrows style!
