What we hope to accomplish..
Gardening for me has always been a passion. But to be honest I am a lazy gardener. I hate to weed and I hate watering LOL! But seriously, they are two things that need to be done. In this section of my blog I will talk about my Elemental garden, Aquaponics as well as our new orchard. This will expand I am sure as we expand. Like the other areas of the blog I will share not only the successes but the failures as how can we truly learn anything if we do not fail? It is through failure that we find the inner strength to something better. I love the movie Meet the Robinsons - Walt Disney - as one of my favorite sayings was in that movie "Keep Moving Forward!" That is what we do here, we keep moving forward no matter what. Even in gardening... we live on sand, we have no topsoil, I found Aquaponics. I am also learning about what plants grow best in our soil without having to spend thousands of dollars on bringing in more soil. I am composting - yes I guess I could make a section on composting too! See already expanding - already moving forward and I haven't even posted this yet!
My father used to say that you are never lost (this is when we were on vacation in our car and lost (he hated to stop for directions)) if you have gas in the tank and four good tires...! Very wise words as we found the most fantastic things when we made a wrong turn somewhere. This works in all aspects of life as well... gardening, cooking, building, the list is endless. I guess it boils down to taking chances and not being afraid of change. Two things I have never been afraid of, much to my mother's chagrin. That is why we moved to Vermont, then to Pennsylvania and now to Maine. It has been a long trek getting here but now we are where we are supposed to be. This is where I have one big garden...the garden of Life!
I don't know if you will learn anything from my ramblings as I can ramble on a bit... but if you have questions on gardening, perennials, annuals, plant ID, what to grow where, composting, anything at all I invite you to ask me as I may know the answer. And if not, I have a lot of fun finding out! Enjoy and Happy Gardening!
