As we did in the master bedroom, this next bedroom we planned on doing the same thing with 2x4 walls, new electrics, new insulation and a ceiling fan. As this bedroom is going to be our youngest daughters room, she wanted to have a blue sky ceiling and into the walls with green mountains. We would then find stickers or decals to place on the wall to give it a floral kind of theme in flowers and butterflies. It wasn't my first choice for her as I really had hoped she would stay with the horse theme as we had all the decorations for that. But I think she felt it would bring up the bad memories of the other house if she had to face the horse theme in this house too.
We first ripped up the carpeting and removed the baseboard trim along the walls. Jonathan then framed up the walls, ran new electrics, insulated and dry walled it all. Reframed in the windows but without shelves on the top in this room. We compounded and then painted. We installed carpet from one of the bedrooms at the other house and she had a clean fresh room that is a hole lot warmer for the north side of the house! All that is left to do is cut a hole in the floor to allow heating to come up as there is no heat in any of the bedrooms. Here is the finished room slideshow:
